Thought we could have a unified topic for the games that publishers and developers will parade in E3 this year, now that the Xbox 360, Nintendo Revolution and PlayStation 3 have been officially launched.

Here's the new Quake IV trailer.

http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=7004 (free registration required, pm me if you don't feel like registering and just want to use my account)

The game is being developed by longtime id software collaborator Raven Software. Which is a good thing, because id can't tell a single player story to save their lives (despite the focus in Doom 3 on single player). Raven has promised to continue the single player storyline of the Strogg invasion of Earth from Quake II, combined with multiplayer that builds on the legendary multiplayer of Quake III. This trailer looks great.

One problem though. There are striders lifted directly from Half-life 2. Is nothing sacred anymore?

Gamespot is doing absolutely stunning coverage of E3 this year. i highly suggest checking them out. They update every few minutes now with new stuff and even have hour by hour live floor showing. One cool thing, even if you are not a complete subscriber, you get everything a complete person does, just a hour or so later! Thats a hell of alot better than the crud some other game sites give out where they only pander to the paying people.

I was very impressed with that preview of quake4. Looks like it will be much better than the other quakes. But then, I prefer good stories in the games I play.

There's a new Zelda trailer over at Gamespot (I think it's the one that Satoru Iwata showed in the Nintendo E3 conference). It's called The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

BTW this Zelda is only for the GCN, not the Revolution.

Unreal Tournament 2007 (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/unrealtournament2007/index.html) I never played any UT, but I always heard good things.

And Croteam speaks of Serious Sam II to 1up.

I'm so psyched about this one :D . I loved how he fit his minigun into his back pocket.

EDIT: And for all you obsessive, intellectual types who don't like Sam 'Serious' Stone, here's E3 news on Civilization IV from IGN:

Gamespy has a preview on the paranormal shooter F.E.A.R.:

This game looks to be shaping up pretty nicely. It's definitely the game I'm looking forward to the most this year. Hope it makes its June release date, along with San Andreas for the PC it's gonna be a busy summer.

You know i was looking at revolution and i did notice that they say you can download every single NES, SNES, and N64 game out there. But what im wondering is: will they be free?

Doubtful. They said they would implement a new broadband gaming service similar to Xbox Live. I think you'll need to download those titles at a price, but who knows?

And I was impressed with the PS3 being backwards compatible with the PSOne.

gamespot is reporting that The La convention center has lost partial power and internet.

BTW this Zelda is only for the GCN, not the Revolution.

Since the Revolution will be backwards compatible, it's for both. And hot damn, that was a sweet looking trailer. If only it wasn't so dark, or my monitor not so backlit...

Has anyone else been watching G4's coverage of E3? It's been pretty interesting, some cool stuff and the commentary from the various techtv people has been pretty good too.

Don't get G4, but they really turned me off then they bought TechTV. For the half year i had G$ i hated it. Its litterally 24 hours of half hour long commercials. No real game reporting on it.

I am watching the gamespot complete live video of E3. They are doing a very good job in my opinion. while the developer interviews are all butt kissing of course, when the editorss speak up and post their thoughts online they give what they really think.

Like for example they talk about how they do not believe the controversial PS3 trailer is real and how dissapointed they were with X-box 360's press conference.

Still no sign of Golden Sun 3, darnit...

Kingdom Hearts II is looking very nice, as are Pokémon XD and the new Zelda and Kirby games (too bad I don't have a Gamecube).

Also, since they're releasing the second Fullmetal Alchemist game in America, hopefully that means we *will* be eventually getting the first game over here... I still haven't heard anything about it getting an Australian release.

*continues reading through the list*

Ooh, Tales of Legendia! And it's on PS2! *has been playing Symphonia at her friend's house, due to lack of Gamecube*

I'm really excited about Prey. For those who dont know about it, it was a game that was being developed a really long time ago and got cancelled so the developer could concentrate on Duke Nukem Forever (whatever happened with that) and has been resurrected.

The portals technology in the game seems pretty cool. Some of the levels, as per the previews on some websites, have crazy design. The comes looks like it's generating higher expectations. It also looks fantastic as it's using the Doom 3 engine, hopefully it won't be a dark corridor crawl all the way through, though.

Apparently also Quake Wars: Enemy Territory is turning heads, and everyone is getting psyched about it. It's apparently part Battlefield in the future, part MMO, and nobody knows if they're gonna charge monthly for it or go Guild Wars on us.

Call of Duty 2 is also getting a lot of attention. Apparently its double the intensity (which means more sensory overload and an ear operation because of how loud this is gonna be).

Also Remedy (developers of Max Payne) are showing graphics technology that will power their newest game titled Alan Wake, which is supposed to be a psychological horror/thriller. Nothing playable yet though.

EDIT: Here are some Quake Wars Enemy territory screenshots:

Yeah, CoD II is making me excited considering how much I liked the first one. It's also squad based, which adds and extra layer of strategy and fun.
