It's all right - it's not news. It's a fake, done by a guy to use as "evidence" in a debate about lions fighting midgets, which got seen rather more widely than he'd anticipated.

What was there?

A guy and his friends had been having a debate about who would win in a fight - a lion, or a group of unarmed midgets. In order to help convince his friends that the lion would win, he created the fake news story linked to at the start of the thread and offered it as evidence.

Midgets vs Lions? Sounds like something an old favorite site of mine "Grudge Fights" would have come up with. Sadly, the site is closed but the archive still remains.

For example, this contest: http://www.grudge-match.com/History/rott-chi.shtml is a perfect example of something parallel to this story.
