Candy and SciFi Chick have been banned.
They both were in flagrant violation of the FAQ of this board, and the course was clear. I generally don't announce and explain this sort of thing, but seeing how popular they both were, I feel I should.
They had 12,000+ posts between them, yet they let a simple miscommunication get wildly out of control. I explain this here (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=486892#486892).
The irony is that either one of them, at any time before the blow up, could have simply not posted. They could have walked away from the board, walked away from their keyboard, given themselves an hour or two or 12 to calm down. Neither did. Their behavior quickly spiraled out of control, and I will not allow that on my board.
The main rule here is really pretty simple: remain calm. Stay rational, stay polite. Arguing is okay, as long as it doesn't get heated; I expect there to be disagreements; that's what this entire board, this entire website, is about. But it will remain polite.
