The page (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/20050116tas2.html) (which is image heavy, so folks on dialup should be prepared for that) starts out with some fairly normal (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/052591.jpg) looking cars, but as things go on (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/052561.jpg), they get more ugly! (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/052671.jpg) Trust me, they get even worse.

Oh. COmpletely different direction than I thought it was going to go.

I did spot in a parking lot once a corvette that had the rear deck redone so the thing was a tiny pickup truck. It was a sort of depression about the size of three cases of beer, stacked. Pretty silly.

What I thought it was going to be was pictures of those goshawful Honda Elements or the ludicrous Pontiac Azteks. (We call the Azteks "extenda-cars" since they look as if someone took a regular hatchback car and lifted it up and added an extension to the bottom.) Of course here in our city there is an Aztek owners club. Go figger.

Spotted a Chevrolet driving round Chelmsford the other day.

It was tiny! I though Yank cars all had to be HUGE.

I liked it though.

Ugliest car?

The one designed by Homer Simpson.

What else?

Chevy and Daewoo Partenered up in the UK (http://www.carpages.co.uk/chevrolet/daewoo-chevrolet-launched-27-01-05.asp?switched=on&echo=10829725) They put the badge on a small Daewoo and called it a day...and Chevy's been here for a while in the form of Vauxhall anyways (a Vauxhalll Nova if nothing like a chevy Nova...)

I would vote for the honda Element (here in Canada, can't say what they're like in other countries)...

Horribly looking car, IMO. Hope no one here has one

Those cars were ug-a-ly. Only a blind man could like one, that's assuming he didn't go blind by poking his eyes out on all the pointy parts.

Why would anyone think those cars are cool? They are a joke! And what's with the second radiator on so many of them?

Here's a pic of my baby. It'd be a sin to modify this.

What else? And did you know that something which looks almost identical to it actually exists? (http://www.rexfeatures.com/features/516925/)

And check out their semis! (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/19880228ise.html) How'd you like to have this (http://tanetane92.web.infoseek.co.jp/006451.jpg) in your rearview mirror?

Las Vegas on wheels. And I thought whatever happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. :D

I don't think the cars on that page are ugly, exactly. They're just silly and absurd. Now, the Aztek; there's an ugly car.

I would vote for the honda Element....

My boyfriend and I once pondered which "element" it was. We decided it was "Ug" - "uglium."

I... um... also hope no one here owns one - and likes how it looks. 8-[

You can only speculate what was going on in the mind of the poor deluded soul here.....

"You know I could just get these bits of plywood and build some new wheel arches, that should do. And I'll put a spoiler on the back to make it go faster... And I'll save up some money and buy a set of compasses in a month or two"..... :D

I dont't know about the laws in japan, but in germany that car would not drive on our roads....

Maybe it took part in one of these Godzilla movies...

Just a thought - those cars would have MAJOR problems going over speed bumps... :-?

I've wondered, if you fire enough electrons at a Honda Element, does it turn into a Saturn Ion? :-k

Hi,

I have to confess, I'm English (that's not the confession) and I really like the design and styling of the Honda Element (that is the confession). Every time I'm working over the pond, I try and get one on rental.

I think they stylist did a good job of styling the car as a modern utility tool, it's just something I haven't seen much of.

Willing to discuss car styling all day long but not sure if we are allowed here....

More Japanese car mods, which I strangely like this time...

Now I've got a VW bus already, and I have to admit, running around in a half scale one is quite appealing...

I would vote for the honda Element...

Where I work, I noticed not one but two Honda Elements parked side-by-side in the lot!

Fortunately, the owners moved them before they had a chance to breed.

I guess they fit into the packing crates fairly well.

What's wrong with the Elelement? Compared to every US car I have seen it's OK. And I include horrors like Mustangs and Vipers.

There are a couple of them. The one is absolutely a square box. Very odd. The other is a bit more rounded, but it looks for all the world like a RUbbermaid storage tub. The couple ridges on the roof, and the square cutouts around the wheel wells with plastic or rubber inserts stuck in place.

I notice that a number of SUVs are starting to look more like giant running shoes.

That last one was actually a Jesse James Zamboni.

Not so much ugly as intimidating. The front end of a 1974 Ford LTD.

For when you want that driverless car look to scare the neighbors.

...And what's with the second radiator on so many of them?...

It's either an oil cooler or a transmission cooler...but those rubber hoses leading to them, with all the slack...how gauche...

I mean ta tell ya...there are a few nice custom touches there, but the rest of 'em...butt-ugly would be being nice...and those trucks! Pachinko machines on wheels...

Aren't those cars intended to make a mockery of the 'bodykits' and spoilers that people seem to like to outfit their cars with these days? I think they're trying to take the mick.

I- er, me and my friends didn't surmise that they were extra radiators, but rather ugly light-fixtures of some kind: scrolling message lights or something, as a number of them appear to be the spawn of a sacrificed headlight.

More likely to be Turbo Intercoolers if they have 'fat' piping

I recall reading some comments on the Element's appearance. One said it looked like it was still in the packing box. Another said the packing box would look better.
