I was browsing the bulletin boards, and I found this http://www.hitlersescape.com on one of the advertisements at the top of the page.
It looks interesting, but it seems kind of woowoo to me. I haven't read everything on the website, but has anyone actually read the book?
Is there any truth to it or is it just another conspiracy theory?

I haven't read the book, but it's just another conspiracy theory. Hitler's remains were in Soviet control almost immediately.

Hitler committed suicide on April 30th, at about 15.30, by biting a poison ampul. Hitler shot itself at the same time a bullet into the temple.
The corpse was burned by Martin Bornman, Hitler's chamber servant Heinz Linge, its SS adjutant Otto Günsche and several bodyguards from the "Führerbegleitkommando"
- in accordance with Hitler's last orders.
They buried the charred remnants in a garnet funnel in the garden of the Reichskanzlei.

The remnants of Hitler and its wife were excavated in the first days of may by Soviet troops and identified on the basis by radiographs and tooth patterns.

After the end of the cold war the russian administration admitted that the remnants of Hitler and Eva Brauns were buried until the beginning of the seventies on the ground of a Soviet barrack in the Magdeburg area.
On instruction of KGB boss Andropow they got finally destroyed by pouring them into the ELbe River.

These are the facts! Everything else is BS.

Just to add to the facts, Adolf Hitler was born on 20th April, 1889. Had he survived his own suicide he would now be 116 after being poisoned and shot in the head.

Quite an achievement for a megolomanic to live in obscurity for all the post-war years after such an eventful life.

I remember a British TV station ran this idea in one of it's documentries. Unfortunately I can not acetain which station it was on.

They first went through the identification process to show that the reamins identified as Hitler, may not have been him. Then they had eye witneses claim that they had seen someone matching his description somewhere in South America.

Just wondering...Is it possible that one of the people around him in his last days killed him, and then all agreed to say it was suicide? Just a thought...

Sticks...if that's what the woo-woos pass for evidence nowadays, they must be getting desperate. Why the heck would Hitler stay in hiding all these years? (sadly) there are numbers of neo-nazis throughout the world, and he would only have to lead them if he wanted some power back (of course, he would probably be stopped but hey, if he went into hiding once he can do it again)

A popular joke in the 60s:

Hitler fakes suicide, escapes Germany, and lives obscurely in S. America. A group of young Nazi followers finds him and implores to lead a new effort to dominate the world uner a Nazi agenda. After much persuasion, Hitler finally agrees to give it another try. "This time," he says, "No more Mr. Nice Guy stuff!"

Oh, geez, you guys are falling for the establishment's line!!

The facts are that Hitler faked his suicide and escaped to Switzerland. He had some slight reconstructive surgery, changed his name to Abel Horowitz (AH!), and emigrated to the US in 1946. He became a barber in Passaic, NJ, where he married his former mistress, had no children, and died quietly at the age of 93.

I know this is true because a friend of my father's first cousin knew a guy who once had his hair cut by one of the other barbers.

So there.

I remember seeing an article on the front page of one of those woo-woo magazines many years ago claiming that Hitler was living somewhere in Russia--then a few years later during "Operation Desert Storm" the same paper claimed that Hitler was helping Sadam Husein.

If we actually believed the stuff printed by those things that claim to be newspapers we would all be rather ignorant.

I remember reading that Stalin used Hitlers skull as an ashtray. Since I don't smoke, I would have had to use a urinal cake somehow.

The giveaway there is that Abel was a really good painter, something that was an obvious connection to his prior life as Schickelgruber. His painting was of high quality and very efficient. He could paint an entire apartment in ONE afternoon! TWO coats!

By that time anyone in Hitler's staff who had any sense whatsoever had already bugged out and were either trying to surrender to the Americans and British, or were trying to escape Germany with new identity. Those few who remained in the bunker with Hitler to the end were fanatically devoted to him.
