Wow....Just played the SP demo...Wow. The enemies are damn smart. Damn smart.

In one portion you are attacking them while they are on a walkway. So i use the stairs and go up to them thinking. hell they probobly will stay there till thhey die. Boy could i br wrong. There is a pair. What they do is they FLANK ME! One of the pair continues to hide behind a box and fire at me. The other jumps over the railing to the ground below, comes around and shoots me from behind.

Not to mention this is a absolutely stunningly beautiful game.
I just got my newly upgraded system today and this is the game i wanted to try it out on, Wow. Im stunned, speachless, and amazed. Its beautiful. The particvle effects are amazing. Download this demo, its going to not only freak (You thought doom 3 was scarry? ha! this demo, if its anything like the full game will beat the pants off that.) Its going to make you gawk at its beauty too.

A friend of mine showed it to me the other day, and it looked really cool. I definitely want to check out the demo.

amd athlon 64 3500
antec 430 watt power supply
K8n Neo 4 Nividia nforce 4 motherboard
xfx Geforce 7800 gtx 256mb
2 gigs of ram.

Same hard drives and same disk drives.

I was able to run F.E.A.R. at max resolution, maximum specs with ab solutly no noticable framerate drops.

Total system, including installation (minus my already included hard drives and cd drives) $1200.

Total system if bought right now including the hard drioves and cd drives, i would assume $1500 dollars or so. Im in love.....

And you better remember her before spending $1500..... :) Trust me, been married for 28 years by always remembering her before spending that much.

I worked for part of it. The other parts are split between my birthday gift from her and my parents. Remeber that ~$400 of that was prexisting hardware i canibalized from my old system. Plus i used the argument from before. upgrade now and i last 3 -4 years. upgrade with less and i last less with spending kjust as much sooner.

She was being very, very nice to me. So im waiting for the day for her to pull out the reciept from it several years down the road and call me up on it. Kind of like you having the maifa do a favor fior you and you owing them and them at anytime being able to pull that favor in.
I assume simimlar fates if i do not sdo that favor too. :-)

But i got lucky. I have an amazing woman who was reasonable and used logic to realize that spending the money now makes for spendingless in the future.

[edit: If any of you are in the orlando area, i highly suggest cheap guys computers. they helped me on this and they were very, very knoledgable on what system i would need for it and what upgrades i needed. They were awesome. ]

Just so you guys know i have been working on this all summer. ive been reaserching, checking prices, and working (yes i got a job! :-). Working is actually fun! ) for this card and upgrades to pay it off. Ill have it payed off in about another 2 months or so on my own even if i did not sacrifice my holiday and birthday presents from both my wife and my parents.

You must be careful and tactful with the receipt, otherwise that F.E.A.R. may turn to loathing.

BTW, does this new system somehow figure into a certain individual's plans for world domination? Speaking of which, I saw either the actual DOOMSDAY weather machine model 3056 or a prototype on Family Guy a few days ago. Here's what it looked like while being modified:

And after final assembly:

Of course it's the creation of a little fellow named Stewie.

...I was able to run F.E.A.R. at max resolution, maximum specs with ab solutly no noticable framerate drops...Great! What sort of monitor and sound system are in use here?

Humphrey
19-August-2005, 02:35 PM
monitor is my old monitor. The one that came with my old computer. thats the next thing to upgrasde. Its been with me for three years now and has never failed. I love it. Its a 17 inch widescreen CRT monitor (hp pavillion model v70s). Next year or so ill probobly upgrade my computer with new monitor, but untill then im happy with the one i have. untill i see loss of colours and brightness, im keeping it. :-)

Soundcard: Well i have a Soundblaster 2 on standby, but according to the guys at the computer storee who helped me pout it together, and i do trust them, the onboard motherboard sound card is better than the soundblaster 2. They said because it uses lest processor power and ram because its on the motherboard itself, and its just better than the soundblaster 2. Playing fear, i can say that i had no problems with the sound. I could not run the soundblaster specific enhancements, but i did not miss them. the game still sounded absolutely amazing, and i still got the surround sound system to work perfectly. Each speaker was independantly and correctly supporting sound.

But if i choose i can always install the soundblaster 2 back in. But for now, im not going to. It runs perfectly fine now and sounds amazing.

But, If any of you can give me a valid argument to put it back in i will.

Damn Operative Stweie! He sould not be shoing the advanced DOOMSDAY weather machine model W04 yet! Thats not suppoesde to be relaed untill at least next year and extensive testing has been done.

While the prelimanary tests here in our home base have gone well and counteracted the rogue DOOMSDAY weather machine locked in janitors closet # 4*. We have yet to do our secondary tests involving attacking certain areas of the planet causing freak rainstorms on weddings and office picnics.

Operative Stwewie must be reprimanded for this. No more badmonton tuesdays for a month.

I noticed you seem to have better control of the hurricane setting this year. Does this have to do with not being able to turn it off?

I wouldn't speak too soon. Last year there wasn't much action until I left for school, which I do tomorrow. So if within the next few days storms start popping up, you'll know who to blame for it. :D

The new machine is counteracting it most likely. But we have also used some new programming techniques. Instead of asking out programmers to "Just press every button on the keyboard and see what it does" we are now following the manuals that came with the machine.

So far we have had great sucess with turning on the monitor.

We already know who to blame, we determined that last year.

Aye. Minion Mark 5 has a vastly imprved reasoning and logical skills. Of course this comes at a detriment in the physical ability category.

They might still have the amazing seltzer spraying aim of the Mark 3 but they run like a penguin. (Oh man was the Mark 4 a bad deciaion. Who in the hell thought a entire clone production of Katie Courics was a good idea?)
