Hey, don't worry Candy, I get it all the time to. What's weird though is that I didn't start this topic and yet I'm the first post? Why is that?

If its in California, does that mean Death Valley?

Thank you, jkmccrann.

Oh, yeah, you're 26 - not 16!

Candy

Right?

Yep, that's right. 26. You would not believe the crazy stuff that's happened in my life this year Candy, you would not believe it, but its hardly appropriate for this place, how old are you anyhow?

Candy

I'm 39 and you are old enough to know better.

True, true, but I can see that you're young at heart. :)

It's not hot. It's possibly named from a nearby thicket named Monte del Diablo, where some natives hid from Spanish soldiers, and the name transferred to the highest peak around.

It's one of the highest peaks in the San Francisco Bay Area, about 1200 meters.

Mount Diablo State Park (http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=517)

Very curious...I am the poster who started this thread less than 2 months ago. Now all the posts are gone. Sounds like a major software problem.

The reason that this was posted to conspiricies (Lunar Conspiricies on the old BABB board) is that this thread "was" about the BA giving his Apollo hoax talk at Mt. Diablo...

What's weird though is that I didn't start this topic and yet I'm the first post?

No...what's weird is that you continue to post to threads when you obviously have no idea what the threads are "about".

Remember this?...

I'm guessing at anthropostologist. I have probably been a bit excited the last few days, I just think this is such a great place full of great ideas!, I'll vow to be more circumspect in future.

emphasis mine...

So just when can we expect that "vow" to take effect????

Ok, R.A.F., I see your point, the problem is, there is some sort of software problem, I have nothing to do with that, for some reason before I entered this thread, it was stated that the last post to this thread occured in 1970, which is obviously wrong, what disturbed me about that is that this thread was obviously a fairly recent one, as you say, 2 months ago, so why does it say that it hasn't been posted to since 1970?

The thing that worried me about this is that there are a number of threads that claim to not have been posted to since 1970, but given what's happened with this thread I'm beginning to think they're in fact possibly quite recent threads that through no fault of their own were somehow buried at the tail-end of all the fora.

As for being circumspect, I think I have been more circumspect in the last couple of days - as opposed to late last week, but I appreciate that there are perhaps extra steps to be taken in that regard.

Edit: To correct spelling of a word.

Yet, when I did a search on 'Diablo' I saw this (other?) topic:

The Bad Astronomer at Mt. Diablo...08/23/05 (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?t=20411) started by R.A.F.

My Wife and I had the pleasure of seeing the BA give his "Moon Hoax" talk at Mt. Diablo this last Tuesday.

I wonder if the topic jkmccrann resurrected, perhaps one with an incorrect date in 1970, started by Antice, didn't start out its life with this title, but somehow inherited its new title (at the same time its date was damaged) from the topic I cited above.

a thought...

The Unix clock started in 1970... it's possible the clock on the host system got toasted temporarily. I bet somebody left the marmalade off.
