More Moon and planet dances

In the next few days, 2 planets will come very close to the Moon.
On January 24th, tomorrow as I'm writing this, the cresent moon will be close to Venus. Best viewing will be just after sunset.

On January 27th into the 28th, the Moon will be near Mars again. From sunset on the 27th, Mars and the Moon will get closer all night.
The closest approach will be just before sunrise on the 28th Zuloo time.

Okay, the conjunction of the Moon and Venus was a bust in my part of the country and world, as our skies were overcast.
But perhaps the view of the Moon and Mars on Tuesday will be better.

It was really great to watch over here, although it was overcast all day, the skies cleared at dawn. Beautiful.

The pairing of Venus and the young Moon was quite striking. I took some digital photos of the event with my girlfriend's Sony camera. I hope to be able to post them sometime soon.
