OK... A friend of mine told me it is not a good idea to use the Windows XP Home Ediition Remote Assistance program. He said while using it with a friend hackers can get into your PC and jack with it while using it. Other words it leaves you PC wide open for hackers. Is this true?

yes it's true, but it could not harm your computer if you call with your friend and make a appointment what time he can help your computer from a distance.
but after complete turn it off.

OK... Thanks. Last night I tried to get one of my on line friends to link into my PC and he stopped me in my tracks and said "Don't do it!!!!". I guess he over reacted about the idea. Then he told me the hacker stories :D .

Try using a firewall... or the best prevention - don't use Remote Assistance at all.
