There is such a wonderful variety of ways to look at the sky, and lately we are finding an incredable variety of things that are there - how come no-one has come up with an affordable way to display our sky gems i.e. a home planetarium? Has anyone seen anything, that DOESN'T start ar $16, 000? I'm trying to build a projector out of a 15" LCD monitor, and it looks promising, but it sure is taking a lot of head scratching

Hmmm... the only things like this I've seen are toy projectors for children or those glow-in-the-dark stars (my future stepson was very pleased with the starmap I did for him on the ceiling!)

Umm... you could put them as your computer's wallpaper. Thats free. Or if you have a projector, and DVD player, create a VCD of high guality pics and watch them through your projector.
