I have a rather aged equatorial mounted telescope, (it was bought in the early 70s)
Anyway, it's in quite good condition, but the mount needs lubricating. Does anyone know what the best stuff is for the job? I do take it out in very cold weather, (yes, I do go out when it's -20c... clear nights are rare in Ottawa!) so something that works in low temps would be required.

Any ideas would be great!
Thanks <_<

Perhaps I could mention using what high altitude Aircraft Use on exposed bearings, etc.
Known as High Altitude Low Temperature Grease. If you know anyone in Air Canada Maintenance, you could perhaps ask for a small amout. Otherwise try industrial suppliers. Tom

Try white lithium grease.
