I am from Delhi India, 30 yrs. and very interested in astronomy but hv very little knowledge. I just want to know what sd I buy to start observing sky and from where. Do u hv any site or shop known in India which can provide me with one basic telescope and money is also a consideration for me as I earn in rupee and not in $$.

Alok:
The best and the most inexpensive way to start is not to buy a telescope at all.
Join your local Amateur Astronomy club..you can then get to look through other people's telescopes for free. (I know there is an active amateur astronomy club in Delhi -googling should find details)
Next get yourself a good pair of 7 x 50 binoculars-the best you can afford.
Then get hold of a book such as "Turn Left at Orion".
This will get you right into astronomy and will keep you going for a year or so before you decide to invest in a telescope.
