im new i have a celestron 76gt. what will filters do for me? what will a barlow 2x do for me? im new to this i dumb to this but im trying to learn and teach my kids. im 42 and a beginer so take it easy on me ok.

I don't really know your scope but a moon filter and a 2 x barlow are usually handy accessories
generally speaking you should have one low power (say 25 mm ) , one medium power (10 mm) and one high power (4 to 6mm) eyepiece
check some of the earlier threads in this forum there is plenty of good advice which is where I mostly learnt from myself

I forgot to add that the most important accessory is a good book that will help you plan your targets for a nights viewing
Turn left at Orion is the one I use and I think it fantastic, but a book called Nightwatch by Terence Dickenson has been also strongly recommended.

thanks seeker ill check into them i just picked up a nightsky magazine i like it so far.
