Hello all.
I have been intending to buy a telescope for quite some time now but have always been put off with the price in many web-sites. If I buy one, it will be my first telescope and therefore I don't intend to spend too much money on them, approx 100GBP. Most telescopes that I came across in website start from around 200-300 for small (approx 4") telescopes. However, I came accross some telescopes being auctioned in E-bay, and are going for very reasonable prices.
One telescope that always seems to 'pop-up' is the Saben 6" reflector telescope. Has anyone bought one of these, and how good are they. They go for around 100GBP which is within my budget, but I am not sure about their quality, as I tried to search for them being sold on astronomy website but haven't come accross any.
Also, what can I be expecting to see with this kind of telescopes? e.g. rings/moons of saturn? messier objects? galaxies? nabulas? etc?
Your help is greatly appriciated, and also maybe help convince me to go into the world of amateur astronomy.
Thank you.
