I just came across a photo of me looking through John Vogt's stacked filter Coronado Solar Max 40 H-alpha scope at Stellafane on Saturday afternoon. I'm the lug wearing a tie-dye Stellafane t-shirt. John had a 40mm Coronado PST set up on the other side of the dual mount.
Both scopes produced excellent images of the chromosphere. Several prominences and filaments were visible and a solar flare occurred, emanating from AR 10649.
