Hi Guys I'm new here. I'm wondering whether the Meade LXD55 AR6-AT or 75 AR6-AT is better. I can't see any major difference except the $250 additional price. I like the look and quality of both. I've seen Jupiter through the 55 and was impressed. Now what's the difference between them? :D

in the early '70s i advised mr. dieble on the ATM Book III article on barlow size, advised him to go for S/Cs, as newts were so cheap and his family had great wealth---he came to astronomy via his parents hiring a consulting firm, which advised amateur astronomy as an easy entry/per budget area. i was never paid, offered decades of experince freely---meade has never innovated 'toilet-paper', only copy and 'refine'. his father-in-law, mr. hoshino owes me at least a mil---, so who would have thought this biz such a predatory mess? i didn't---jackals brought me down---as mr. dick nelson of 'Optical Craftsmen', Tom Cave of 'Astrola'---many others. there is no libel here, just truth. 'celestron?' just as nasty---but IMHO they have better products---ethics and 'down-home' cooperation? i was a fool.

when it comes to commercial products, get a 'money-back' option.
