A Seemingly Absurd Proposition

If we could construct a 2.5 mile cable that rotates in the horizontal plane, parallel to the Earth's surface. The cable hub would be supported by a high mountain or a large stratosphere based balloon. The end of the cable would circle the hub once every 6.75 seconds, at a speed of 18,000 mph, which is orbital velocity. The point of the Rotating Strato-Sling is not to extend into orbit. Instead, it is to rapidly accelerate the vehicles to orbital speeds. This looks like an absurd proposition since a vehicle that remained at the end of the cable would experience 800 gravities; however, excess acceleration effects on the vehicle will be prevented by a principle I call Rotational Free-Fall

The vehicle starts out at the center of rotation. It is allowed to simply slide out to the end of the cable under the influence of rotational acceleration. The extraordinary hypothesis is this, the vehicle is in Rotational Free-Fall as it "falls" out the length of the cable; therefore, it feels greatly reduced effects of the nearly instantaneous acceleration, just as a gravitationally falling object in a vacuum feels no acceleration effects even though it is accelerating!

If you are standing on the rotating cable-hub and observe the vehicle, then you think the vehicle is accelerating in a linear fashion as it slides out along the cable; however, an outside observer sees the vehicle tracing a certain kind of spiral path through space until it departs from the end of the cable, tangent to the circle that it was tracing.

To understand why the acceleration is so reduced in this particular spiral trajectory, one must consider why objects tracing a circular trajectory have an acceleration acting on them that is equal to V^2 / R. Every quarter-revolution the object completely undergoes ac-celeration in one direction and simultaneously experiences de-celeration in the opposite direction. V^2 means V times V; one of these V’s is attributable to the continuous ac-celeration and one of them is attributable to the continuous de-celeration. However, objects in Rotational Free-fall do not undergo deceleration since that velocity component goes into accelerating the object out along the cable.
Spiral-celation can be calculated as V/R. This means that the vehicle will only be feeling about 1/8 of a g-force by the time it reaches the end of the cable and flies off, tangent to the circle traced by the end of the cable. Of Course, it does not in any way negate the gravitational forces of the Earth.
No doubt, some will argue that the vehicle accelerates from zero to 25000fps in a very short period of time, therefore, it will feel an acceleration equal to the change in velocity divided by the time interval; however, this statement ignores the fact that, every single moment, the ship is accelerating in a different direction. Again, this justifies removing one of the V’s from V^2.

Single Stage To Orbit & TOUFO’s

An independent vehicle following the same spiral path would experience the same effects even though it was not hooked to a cable. When viewed from the side, this spiral would appear as an erratic back and forth motion. This is in agreement with radar observations of so-called UFO’s that were undergoing seemingly impossible accelerations.

Thank you so much for your time! Please let me know what you think!!
