are we descended from aliens

wow thats a subject to get people to put pen to paper! Who are we and how did we arrive on this planet ? My view for what its worth ! is that we came out of evolution but there are aliens or people descended from aliens living on this planet too. We are not alone! in this universe of ours. There is something out there stopping us from destroying ourselves. We have done our damest to try . Take for instance the neuclear weapons we seem to have produced and stockpile. the old soviet union has thousands of them somewhere corroding .and the cuban crisis, 2 world wars (good vs evil ) 9-11 (twin towers) terrorism.korean war etc etc. But something out there ? stops us or are just lucky! The question is when does our luck run out ? Or is there a higher being out there preventing us from going over the edge. What does the forum think !

Are we protected? No I don't think so - life is a numbers game to me - were the dinosaurs protected when their number came up - nope - and do I believe our existance is any more or less of interest to the cosmos - nope.

Are we lucky? Sure - we have great brains and a potential to grip the Cosmos by the (well you know)

I hope we realise this potential someday - but if the next planet sized chunk of rock happens to land instead of skimming on by then it's ta ta and hello to the next rulers of the planet - probably Ants, they are great survivors - hey do you think they are related to certain mods on this forum? :D

Concerning your question, I have no reason to think that intelligent aliens are ancestors of ours. It is possible that Earth was seeded with primative space-born life (this is called panspermia).

The aliens are not aliens. They are humans from the distant future after eons of evolution who have now come back in time to nurse humanity through this period. It all started when we gained the capability to wipe out all life on Earth - nuclear weapons - and will end when they've solved the issues that led them to the dead end they are currently facing. They don't want a repeat of when the dinosaurs nuked themselves off the Earth, although that did create the environment for us to evolve.

If in fact this were true and advanced humans from the future came back in time to nurse us through this period, that confirms that we survived and things turned out just fine... now why would the want to come back and fix things?
