Some advice please.

I am looking at buying a 70mm (f/10), Focal Length700mm scope. What would i be able to see with this, though?

ie. rings on saturn? clouds on jupiter maybe?

how about a nebula or 2?

im excited!

ta in advance.

if your in the city? the moon, jupiter's moons and some surface detail, saturn's nice. double stars are more fun than you may thing, start with episilon lyra---the wonderful 'double-double'---if you've dark skies you will see a lot more, especially if the sagittarius milky way is there---you may even 'relsove' M-22---my favorite globular, as i was a kid with a 3" f/10 relector, when i 1st saw the sprinckle of stars as sugar---quite a thrill---but very dark southern sky.

M-52, the 'ring' nebula is easily seen---as are numerous spectacular 'open-clusters'. like M-17, the perseus double cluster, M-11---several in auriga---plenty of things---but when you want 'fly'by' jupiter views, and the intricies of M-51, or "the veil'---no less than 10" will hack---with a nebular filter diffuse objects are well seen even in cities---haven't heard of a 'galaxy' filter---dark skies will show structure, and light polution's no problen w/jupiter---a rapid addiction with aperture. if you've room, you won't outgrow even a $500, or less, 10" dobsonian. most bang for the buck. when you're talking visual? 'Aperture Rules'. i'd check Sky & telescope's review of the Hardin 10" and other similar dobs---have fun---
