Here is another image of M31 (Andromeda Galaxy) I took the following night (09.09.04) where it was just as clear, dark, and steady.
I used a Nikon Coolpix 5700 with settings ISO 400, 300sec, f4.2, fl=71.2mm (max. optical zoom).
I took a 5 minute darkframe and subtracted it as before.
The increased exposure has brought out more of the starfield and also the wider, narrower "haze" of the galaxy. If you look at the image with the lights of your study out you can see some detail in the image.
