I want to submit a paper at the next Amazing Meeting.

I am worried about two things.

#1) someone else has already made the discovery or observation that I have made on my own. This has happened to both me and my brother several times.

#2) my idea might get ripped off. This too has happened a lot to me and Jim.

I have never had a scientific idea of mine stolen but I have had other ideas (for web sites, for instance) stolen.

The theory I have in mind I have not posted on this forum anywhere, by the way.

Also, I am going to ask if I can submit multiple papers and give more than just on 20 minute lecture.

It would be very cool to give a talk there. Plus I use that as an excuse to get "approval" to spend the money to go.

TAM is primarily a conference on skepticism and critical thinking as opposed to detailed discussions on physics or astronomy. Here are the papers that were presented last year as an example:

Teaching Critical thinking in the Physical Sciences
Liam McDaid
Astronomy Coordinator, Sacramento City College

Carla Baron - Psychic Detective?
Sherri Andrews and Brian Hart
Independent Investigations Group, CFI-West

Fighting Fideism
Dr. Carlos Bertha
Department of Philosophy, United States Air Force Academy

Legalized Child Abuse: Faith Healers and Child Deaths
Dr. Seth Asser
Hasbro Chilren's Hospital, Providence RI

SkepticalPsychology.org: An Educational Resource for Students and Faculty
Dr. Curt Burgess
Dept. of Psychology, UC Riverside

Confessions of a Monkey Boy
David B. Schlosser
Communications strategist, Austin, Texas

Is your paper along those lines? If it is more physics/astronomy based you might consider submitting your paper to a science conference as opposed to TAM.
