Field of view

I'm having some trouble figuring out apparent field of view and "real" field of view. From what I've read, I understand that:

Apparent FOV = Magnification x Real FOV

But how do I calculate the apparent FOV to begin with? Does each eyepiece have a set apparent FOV or does it change from telescope to telescope?

Each eyepiece has a definite apparent field of view.

You'll have to get that number from the manufacturer or retailer.

These range from a low for old narrow field models of about 30 degrees up to modern wide fields that can exceed 80 degrees.
