I just found this out today.
We now are up to Tropical Storm Zeta.
I can't understand where the heat for its formation came from? Is the ocean temperature still at 80 degrees F, or above?

Seems to indicate that the surface temp in the vicinity of the hurricane is around 90F

It only broke the record for late year formation by a few hours, apparently. Not really that anomolous in the grand scheme.

Although the atmosphere seems to want to develop tropical storms ad
nauseam...the calendar will shortly put an end to the use of the
greek alphabet to name them.
They can be a real hoot sometimes.
