Someone from JREF just brought this (http://www.celestron.com/skyscout/new/index.php) to my attention, and it looks sorta neat (it got some exposure on CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/ptech/01/06/ces.hot.five/index.html) as well). Wonder how well it works.
I'll stick to my star atlas and charts, but it might be something of interest to others.

It states in the CNN article: "It's expected to ship in early spring for about $399."

I can't imagine how you could actually see deep space or medium space objects with it.
