Old and debunked (http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/~mattd/Cmabrigde/).

Somehow I was expecting the Original Poster to be Mickal.

Sadly, Mickal's spelling doesn't follow the "rule" :)

We tried this on another board several weeks ago (these things seem to come back in waves :)). I found out that I have the ability to find mistakes in the words fast. I mean that I can spot when the letter mess does not add up to the word, often "on the fly". In Dutch, in English I'm not that fast :).

Mickal555, what do you mean with "rnesnt"?

(I must admit, my first reaction when reading the thread title was "mickal?" as well :))

He means "resent". Even his misspellings have misspellings. ;)

ya...I think the problem comes with proper nouns? Is that what they're called? names of people, places...n stuff.

Proper nouns are not the problem; what makes worzel's example less readable is the way the letters were scrambled. The author of the original didn't randomly scramble interior letters, but moved them around very carefully -- to keep it readable.

Read the debunking thread I cited (http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/~mattd/Cmabrigde/), by a real Cambridge researcher.
