ABSTRACT: The way repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse, including ritual satanic abuse, are restored and treated closely resembles the way memories are restored and treated in persons claiming to have been kidnapped by space aliens. The witchcraft trials in Salem have similarities to both of these. Persons claiming victimization learn of a possible cause for their distress and find specific persons to blame. They learn their symptoms from books, authority figures, or other "victims." Their beliefs are reinforced and validated by therapists, support groups, and, to varying degrees, the general community.
I’ve often thought Abductions and Sexual Abuse were related, but now I’m convinced. Not from this article, but many articles and/or programs that I’ve read and viewed. I’m one to take the normal from the abnormal with regarding information. What do you guys think?

Both my older brother and sister claim to be visited by aliens as children. I believe they were either sexually abused or approached by a sexual predator. I, too, was approached by perhaps the same person, but I vocalized my concern to an elder (my dad - the hero) which nipped that bud real fast. Could my siblings still be living a falsity? :think:

I've encountered the misconception that the memory works like a video recorder before. The fact that it doesn't is one of the main reasons why witness testimony about things like UFOs doesn't really cut much ice.

It makes sence that false memories of RSA and of abductions have similar causes.

A friend of mine grew up believing that his father was a space alian. His mother told him a story about being picked up by a flying saucer about the time she got pregnant. He was the biggest woowoo in our astronomy club.

If you havn't yet, read Carl Sagan's "Demon Haunted World". He addresses alian abduction and sex abuse. Very interesting.
