I need a picture of a molecule for a web page. Would someone
here with appropriate software volunteer to make one for me?
The page consists of simple answers to classic questions, such
as "What happens when an irresistable force meets an immoveable
object?" and "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" The
question I'd like to have an illustration for is "What is Life
As We Know It?" I want a molecule to illustrate the idea that
carbon is an essential ingredient of "life as we know it".
The essay is still a rough draft. Only the first two essays on
the page are completly finished:

The molecule should be representative of molecules most
important and fundamental to life on Earth. Perhaps an amino
acid, or part of a cellulose chain. It could either be about
the same size as the frog and vorticel pictures, or it could
be short in height but stretch across the width of the page--
perhaps beside the word "carbon". If it goes across the full
width of the page, the image should be about 60 x 750 pixels.
The background color should be F0F0F0 (very light gray). My
preferred format would be a 256-color PNG.
I think ball models look more realistic than ball-and-stick
models, so I'd like to have that. But it means the molecule
needs to be fairly simple in order to be able to see all the
atoms. So DNA is out. I'm unsure what color scheme to use.
Your software may dictate that, or you can suggest something.

and feel of my web pages.
Any takers?
