Another thread has indicated similar variations
in the American currency to British. For a
start we have the "only £" and the more
upmarket "just £". If you see the "under £"
break out the bubbly, that a whole penny less!
Then there is the mythical "up to £" where one
in a thousand might indeed get this discount.
If you see the "from £", sew your pockets up.
A price is a price is a price! Grrrr...

I believe he's referring to ads that say things like

"Only $19.99"

or

"Under $50" (which means $49.99)

or

"You can save up to $500" (which means most people will save about $0.12)

Just noticed a variation. Instead of the
"up to £" we now have the "as much as £".
Must be going for a classier clientel!
Weeeelllll.....I suppose is you are making a
living gettng the hoards to buy your produce
you end up saying these things. Begins to grate
at a certain age though:(
