Ottawa Citizen: Mapusaurus one major meat-eater (http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=5dbc3f7a-656d-4b59-8354-75269e28f437):

The adults were powerful animals 12 to 13 metres long -- slightly longer than the biggest Tyrannosaurus rex -- and weighed six to eight tonnes.
Wikipedia: Tyrannosaurus rex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrannosaurus_rex):

About 12-13 m (39-43 ft) in length, 5 m (16 ft) tall and estimated to be from 4 tonnes to 8 tonnes in weight, T. rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time.

Dr. Phil's amazing - a superb researcher and dino-hunter par excellence. I'm something of a fan of his, and glad this is his discovery. :)

Imagine Mapusaurus in a competitive eating contest. Goodbye food, goodbye other contestants, hello first prize. Now, who drew the short straw and gets to present the trophy to the winner?
