I should be surprised by this (http://press.arrivenet.com/entertainment/article.php/732598.html), but I'm not...
Viewers are taken inside an unusual investigation, as a team comprised of one nationally renowned psychic profiler (Carla Baron), a seasoned paranormal investigator (Patrick Burns), and a gifted medium (John J. Oliver) visit "haunted" crime scenes, in hopes of providing fresh insight to ‘cold cases.’
This really wasn't necessary, psychic detectives was "enough" for me to stop watching court TV...they did not need to give me another reason...
What's next for court TV??...Sylvia Browne??

This gives me an idea:dance:
What if we were to combine the lawyers on television with the psychics?
You are about to be injured in an accident. Get your money before this happens!!
Profit!

Every time they trot out the psychics, I'm drawn back to a tabloid that ran a sincere article about their resident psychic who was seriously injured in a car accident.
Standing in the check out line, the guy in front of me quipped, "Now how come she didn't see that coming?"

That would be helpful...The ambulances need only chase the lawyers?:D

Well here's a nice lead in to a thread I promised to share on other forums. Kelly, whose son has been missing over a year now posted this thread on missing people and supposed psychics who claim they can help (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=52101) over on the JREF forum. If anyone knows how fake these psychic detectives are it's the people the psychics prey on. Of course the TV versions are so edited as to make totally coincidental events seem paranormal. It is a shame since they contribute to the scams.
Anyway, after reading Kelly's story and other people's as well it seems we can do a lot by just sharing information the same way the milk carton pictures and TV shows like America's most wanted do.

If a psychic is injured can the insurance company legitimately refuse to pay? The psychic could see the accident coming so any injury must be considered to be self inflicted.

This is like the History Channel and the National Geographic Channel doing shows about Area 51, UFOs, and Crop Circles.

The history channel seems to embrace everything paranormal without question making their other presentations questionable.
NGC seems to be more skeptical. They recently aired an excellent debunking of the lunar landing hoaxmongers.

Will everybody who believes in psychokinesis please raise my hand?

the presence of bad second hand car sales men doesn't mean that you can't buy good cars.

Sorry, in theory, I could raise your hand, but I'm afraid my range is limited to only those things within reach of my limbs, though certain devices can amplify my manipulative powers somewhat. I've removed tree branches a good ten feet above my body with one of those devices. For you, I would use something a bit less drastic.

the presence of bad second hand car sales men doesn't mean that you can't buy good cars. But if the second-hand car salesmen are selling lemons, then even if you use good salesmen but the product remains the same, they're still selling lemons.
Baloney is baloney, no matter how you slice it and wrap it.

Is that a roundabout way of saying that you think there are "psychic detectives" who can actually do what they say they can do? If so, I would ask for your evidence. Failing that, I would put them all in the category of con men. Mind you, some may even be conning themselves, but I doubt that applies to most.

The presence of bad second hand car sales men doesn't mean that you can buy good cars either.

And, should the road in this instance represent the courts, none of these cars are roadworthy.
