Winter started 11 days ago. I try to have a talk to the moderator about it.The summer solstice in Oz is June 1st? No, wait a minute, that's when per law, tradition, or some other reason, summer officially starts. Same deal in Denmark. Not bad, gives you a head start on a lot of other folks! :)
We had some discussions about this. They may be found here (http://www.bautforum.com/showpost.php?p=632748&postcount=1), here (http://www.bautforum.com/showpost.php?p=631685&postcount=1), and here. (http://www.bautforum.com/showpost.php?p=562962&postcount=1)

Yep, plenty of Aussies here matt, trust you'll be watching the Socceroos tmrw night when we take on the Japs!
As for seasons, they are as you put them, but coming from Melbourne, they're actually a little stupid.
As March (Autumn) is actually warmer than December (Summer) here, and the same sometimes goes for September (Spring) being warmer than June (Winter)
Crazy but true.

Hello from the tropics, where according to the Aboriginals we have eight seasons. But it's on a wheel, so there are no dates to reference beginnings of any of them.
Go Socceroos!

Hi Matt, and welcome to the forum.
Go the Socceroos - and I hope you're staying up to 1am to watch them :)
Go the Maroons on Wednesday *
Go England for the Ashes (Hey, I can't help where I come from !)
* for Non-Aussies - State Of Origin is a big Queensland ("Maroons") vs NSW ("Blues") RugbyLeague series :)

Socceroos! Magnificent Victory!
1-0 behind for 50mins, and in the 85th minute, Australia finally score a goal through super-sub, Timmy Cahill!
Cahill adds another 3 mins later, 2-1 Aussies, and then 2 mins later, John Aloisi comes in, quickly dribbles through the Japanese defence and plants it in the right hand corner of the net.
Aussies win 3-1, scoring 3 goals in 6 mins to come from the dead!
Well done boys, good luck against Brazil.
