Hi, new to site

Thought I would write a line or two. I am new to this site and to astronomy. I have an 8" Celestron scope with an equaltorial mount. The scope is very nice, but I am a real novice on using it. My biggest problem is I am not tottaly familiar with the sky. So it is very frustrating at times. I have joined a local astronomy club, so that helps to talk with the other members. Mrbill

I have an 8" too :D

Don't wrry about not knowing the sky- pick up a good planiphere learn some easy contellations and you'll get it easily enough

What mickal said, a couple points of reference and hop around from there.

Also, that's why I really like Astronomy magazine. Each month's opportunities laid out nice and easy.
