Another Star Man
13-June-2006, 03:38 PM
I'm new to this forums so I'd like to introduce myself.
I'm from northern México and I work as an English teacher. It's been about five years that I've been interested in astronomy and I also like to track satellites visually, to see the ISS and HST go by and the spectacular Iridium flares.
My telescope is a 5" equatorial, also a pair of 12x50 binoculars, and three software programs to guide me through the constellations and one to track satellites.
There's a very big problem with light pollution here where I Iive, so I have to look for a better place to go out and see the stars.
I like to take pictures of the Moon and the planets, especially when they appear close in the sky. I just put my digital camera on a tripod, set it to twighlight mode and shoot. I can't get the kind of pictures you see in the astronomy section, and I have to tell you, I joined these forums just to take a look at those pictures.
But don't get me wrong, I have visited this site everyday and also two or three other sites devoted to astronomy.
I hope to post or reply to a topic every now and then.
Have a nice day everyone and I'll be reading you!

Welcome! Post your photos. There are some of us who have to live vicariously through others' telescopes!
