So you think SUVīs are a problem when it comes to global warming... Wait until every American family gets one of these (http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/biztech/07/27/little.jets.ap/index.html).

Gee; It didn't take long for this one to be posted.
There we go again, more rich boy toys (yawn). And the rest of us have to pay a premium just to be on a flight with a few inches of legroom.

I don't see whats so revolutionary about it. I've seen smaller, faster, cheaper in the early 80's.

Eclipse is making those little guys right here in Albuquerque. It's an economic boon for our city.

The basic plane design hasn't changed since conception, except for the engines. Originally, manufacturer"R" was supposed to make a very small, ultra efficient, inexpensive engine, but didn't come through.

The original cost of the airplane was supposed to be US$500k, but since they had to buy more expensive engines from another manufacturer, now the cost will be twice as much as originally intended. Still, US$1Million is very cheap for personal jet plane.

Well okay, maybe not cheaper.

For a quarter of the price, you buy this beast (http://autowp.ru/pictures/lamborghini/murcielago_lp640/autowp.ru_lamborghini_murcielago_lp640_4.jpg).

Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640. I've not seen the LP 640, but I did see the original Murcielago in silver. I'm a total aircraft freak, but that car did more to me than most aircraft. And it wasn't even moving :). The most beautiful car I've seen since the XJ-220. A sporty beast, yet stylish. Well, not really from behind, but from the side and front it is a sleek car :).

So for those who don't do really long distances on both traveling and budget, I suggest to look into this wingless jet instead :). Only for the active or MLC types though :) ;).

Honda is also planning to enter this market. The engines are mounted on pylons above and aft of the wing. It looks very strange at first but when you look at true side, top, and front views, they're actually in pretty much the same place as everyone else's, just mounted to the wing instead of the body. That makes some sense, it eliminates having to run fuel lines through the cabin.

I love the pylons. The Adma Jet is pretty cool.
