Samurai swords were often tested on dead criminals, live criminals, or even live members of the peasant class. There were 16 standardized cuts on the human body used to rate the swords, called tamashigiri. The record for the number of bodies cut in half with one stroke is 7. Let's hope there are no attempts to break it.
