Hello, I run a small group that builds planetariums for personal or private use, the Home Planetarium Association (www.geocities.com/mrgare5050/planetarium.html) I built a 9 foot and now a 15 foot dome behind my barn (I live on an old farm outside Nashville TN), with a couple different home built projectors and give shows for school groups etc. If anyones interested in this obscure activity, give me a shout (mrgare5050@aim.com), we have a quarterly newsletter and its really alot of fun! Gary-
I am a science supervisor for a school district with a small planetarium. The analog projector is aging (Today Mars quit working...), and we would like to upgrade to digital without spending tons of $$ (which we don't have anyway). Do you have any suggestions? Our dome is about 4-5 m across, and is a permanent hard dome suspended from the ceiling.
thanks!
Beth

Brings back memories for me when, years ago, I punched holes in a shoe box as accurately as I could and projected stars on my bedroom ceiling and walls. I used to dream of operating a neighborhood planetarium.
Pretty cool to see others had the same dream and followed through with it. :)
