If you saw my initial statements, forget them. This is a MULTIPLE CHOICE POLL.

Select ALL of the series that you liked. Choose your own definition of 'good'. That is the criteria.

I've got several different ways of going on past the first round. The results of this round may well influence what happens.

But please select what you think are good series. I, myself, have not seen all of these series. I may well select some on the basis of reputation or premise. This first round is a straight elimination round. If you wish to make comments about these specific shows, they are welcome to those who may not have seen those shows.

What about "none of the above"?

Gillianren, I tend to agree. But, in order to build a decent fruit basket, Lord JJ-the auditor-dynOmite has to select a few bruised melons from the harvest. It is our duty to support him in these perilous times by helping him weed out the less crappy. This will take time and forebearance, and we have no choice about it. The bypass will be built, and it will be "shinny", no matter what. Therefore, irregardless of the occasional crappiness involved, we need to trust and believe in Lord JJ and his methods. That being said, I chose "The 4400". Less crappy.

I suppose I could have turned that question around and asked for the worst of the bunch.

I viewed it as such.

Dang Jubb, what's up with starting at the bottom of the barrel?

:D

Actually, I alphabetized them and select every other 20. I think when it comes to sci-fi, the barrel has a very wide bottom.

Just a comment and a tie-in to Gillian's comments about "None of the above"...

Since the polls are multiple choice, why make any of them an elimination round? That is, why should the results of 1e eliminate a show that has more votes than any show in 1b? Couldn't you look at the votes for every show across the polls and select the top 5-10-? for the next round?

How many here have actually seen Survivors? I managed to catch it on a PBS station once, but I suspect it hasn't often been seen in the US. I thought it was a good end of the world series, though it sure did change story direction often enough. Out of this group, I think it beats the others nicely.

Well looks like the early leaders, for the moment, are:

Lexx, Alien Nation, Farscape, Angel, Babylon 5, Firefly and Futurerama.

Will be interesting to see how this progresses.

irregardless...Someone snuck this word into my vocabulary without prior permission. I blame MLB's satellite program.

Of course, Star Trek hasn't been up yet. Or Stargate SG-1. Or Buffy for that matter (which should go up against Angel).

Unless you argue that Buffy and Angel aren't Sci-Fi but Fantacy, in which case neither should be in the poll.

I forgive you. Just this once!

From the OP rules:
3. The series must propose an alteration of reality or a projection into the future; sci-fi/fantasy/woo-woo are all acceptable.

Well, twice. (You didn't say anything about "snuck.")

There are some ramparts on which I fight; there are some on which I don't. "Irregardless," being an offense against God and man, is one where I fight. That, "graduate high school," and "flaunt" vs. "flout" seem to be my big three--correcting "its"/"it's" around here would take too long some days.
