This is a MULTIPLE CHOICE POLL.
Please select what you think are good series. I, myself, have not seen all of these series. I may well select some on the basis of reputation or premise. This first round is a straight elimination round. If you wish to make comments about these specific shows, they are welcome to those who may not have seen those shows.

Lord JubJub,
one issue here. By selecting the groups of series, you are weighting the possible outcomes especialy in the early "knockout" phase....

I agree. Why not just start a thread with ALL of the series listed, and ask people to post which they like. Then tally them up, drop the bottom one, and do a run-off.

Canuck and Mellow, I thought that was what LJJ was doing, but just separated into smaller polls. Hence the "round 1a, 1b" format. It is possible to select more than one show per mini-poll.

Yes, but what if one poll ends up full of shows that nobody likes, and another ends up full of very popular shows? In the first case, bad shows will get through. In the second, good shows will get dropped.
Unless he's going to add up the totals from each poll into one list of results. Then, nevermind. ;)

as far as I understand, all the polls are compared and the top lot go through to head-to-head.

Yes, but what if one poll ends up full of shows that nobody likes,How can happen in a poll? But wait! I smell a conspiracy obviously concocted by the SciFi channel!;) BBC might be involved... they obviously put forth "Red Dwarf" as a confusion tactic!

How can happen in a poll?
Pure chance. It can happen.
