This is a MULTIPLE CHOICE POLL.

Please select what you think are good series. I, myself, have not seen all of these series. I may well select some on the basis of reputation or premise. If you wish to make comments about these specific shows, they are welcome to those who may not have seen those shows. The Twilight Zone refers to both the series in the '80s and the season in 2002.

Space 1999 is borderline but I voted for it. Blake's Seven was classic British sci-fi. The newer episodes of TZ never quite captured the cleverness of the original. The series from the '80s is slightly better than the most recent attempt, but neither got my vote.

Blake's Seven definitely gets a nod as a good science fiction series (though obviously low budget). I suspect it will be underrepresented just because it has been relatively hard to see in the U.S.

Space 1999 . . . eh, no. A series that starts with the moon being blown out of orbit from nuclear waste just doesn't make the cut for me. New TZ series - just say no.

Maryland Public Television showed the first season of Blake's Seven a few years ago, and I was very impressed with how good it was. (I'd seen it before a long time ago but hadn't been as impressed back then, maybe because I was just getting into Doctor Who at the time.)

Babylon Five fans should note that B7 is one of Straczynski's favorite series.

Now and Again. Such great characters, such wonderful humour. Such a shame it didn't last beyond one season.

I loved Blakes 7, but I was traumatized by the ending, and they can't even bring it back as a movie, sigh.

Well, we don't *quite* know what happened at the end. There is at least some room for interpretation.

But, wow, was that ever an ending!

By the way, I felt worse about the loss of the

Liberator. The series still had time to go at that point.

Blake's 7 was an excellent series, especially considering what they had to work with. Yeah, the ending (which I can thankfully barely remember) sucked.

Space 1999 started out with a shaky premise and bult on it (boy, who knew the moon could travel so far so fast!). Still, for what it tried to be, it did it well; the sfx were impressive given the technology they had.

Now and Again, as Inferno said, was a well-written, well-acted, well-plotted series. It's too bad they didn't at least let it reach a conclusion.

The new TZs were seldom as tightly presented as the originals.

Never saw Goodnight, Sweetheart.
