This is a MULTIPLE CHOICE POLL.

Please select what you think are good series. I, myself, have not seen all of these series. I may well select some on the basis of reputation or premise. If you wish to make comments about these specific shows, they are welcome to those who may not have seen those shows.

The one and only series that I voted for the entire slate

Knight Rider is probably the worst of the lot. Kitt always seemed to miraculously have just the right tech available to save the day but only at the end of the episode. That amazing device always seemed not to exist in the next episode, however. The car's 'amazing speed' never impressed me.

I saw only a few episodes of Quantum Leap but definitely had some interesting angles.

DS9 is Babylon 5 Lite. I really had hoped they would have fleshed out that super secret agency, though. Rodenberry's belief in a future utopia really hamstrung Star Trek.

The Dead Zone I am voting for more for the concept. I did like the couple of episodes that I saw.

X-Files was very uneven, but it had some truly spectacular episodes.

DS9 is my personal favorite amongst all the "Next Gen" Trek series, and the only one I voted for here. Quantum Leap had its moments but tended to be rather preachy, and I never got into the X-Files even though practically every fan I knew did. (I was at a convention once that pretty much ground to a halt for the Friday night hour the show was on.)

Agreed, ToSeek. I liked DS9 more than Next Gen (which is far ahead of Voyager and Enterprise). And I never could manage to get into X-files. If anything, it annoyed me. I felt the same as you about Quantum Leap as well. As for Knight Rider - horrible acting and a silly show.

I did give a nod to "Dead Zone" because it has had some interesting episodes, though I'm starting to get tired of it. I didn't care for the original movie, though.

I love Quantum Leap; see my elsewhere-mentioned love of Scott Bakula. Preachy, yes, but what a cast! I like DS9 as much as I like TOS, so there's that. And X-Files except the last couple of seasons. As for The Dead Zone . . . I'm just madly amused by a character played by both Christopher Walken and Anthony Michael Hall. I still like the book best (though the movie's on my list to see, so maybe I shouldn't say that yet).
