I recently bought a 114mm reflector, I didn't notice till I was about to take it out for the first time that it has the 0.965 lens. I was looking for an adaptor so I can use my 1.25 lens. Is this worth the buy or should I just forget it?

Change the focuser - you can get them readily enough.

If you don't want to upgrade the focuser then get the adaptor. Very very few quality eyepieces out there in the .965 sizes.

Take price of 'scope and divide by 3.

I didn't pay much for. Thanks for the advice! Now to go get used to this german/eq mount and try to find a good focuser.

I'm not sure I agree, that would be highly dependent on the price of the scope. I paid about $550 for my XT 10, but I have at least that much invested in eyepeices.

All one has to do is buy a couple of Tele Vue eyepieces and you may have just spent more than your scope cost. I know, I did just that. However, I have four scopes and a fifth in the works so I still have more invested in the scopes than the accessories.
