Yeah, I remember seeing that program last year or so. That was just one of several scenarios involving a Tsunami, Giant volcano & 'Stringlets'. Quite interesting, athough if a meteoroid that size had struck for real I'd think there would be no Berlin (& v.little of Germany) for there to be craters to see in at the end!

Ahh yes! BBC's program END DAY. I caught it on The Nat Geo channel last year. I thought they did a very good job.

With a shade of the nuke classic THREADS, the German segment was, I thought, the best by far of all the segments. The whole program itself, though, is really good. A kind of 'Groundhog Day' of the same guy experiencing the end of the world over and over by different methods.

Each segment had the prefect gravity of a counter-factual documentary like DIRTY WAR, SMALLPOX, and THE DAY BRITAIN STOPPED. The upcoming DEATH OF A PRESIDENT(made by some of the same folks) looks like it could be promising. For a fan of alternate history, these programs are perfect. The faux-news reports are what truly add to the atmosphere(atmosfear?).

Shame, LAST DAY isn't on dvd. At least not here. :( It's meteor segment managed to do in ten minutes what ARMAGEDDON couldn't muster in 2 and half hours.
