I just saw a Halloween UFO, eight minutes ago as I type, at
9:34 PM CST. I saw it out my window as I was looking up in the
direction of Polaris. (North!) It looked like a row of five or
six faint stars silently gliding toward the south-southeast.
I couldn't tell whether it was in the atmosphere or in Space.
I was planning to ask a friend who is something of an expert in
both aircraft and spacecraft to help me try to identify it, when
I went back to the window to look at the sky again so I could
pin down the direction of flight more precisely. I got really
lucky. About two minutes after seeing the UFO, another one flew
over. This one was bigger, and I think it was probably lower,
because instead of just a row of points of light, I could see
the staggered formation and slightly erratic motion of a flight
of geese! Their white bodies were lit up by the streetlights
below, and their dark wings were invisible.
This happened to me before, when looking through binoculars at
comet Hyakutake in early 1996. Then, too, there were two flights
separated by about two minutes. Both flights were faint V-shaped
outlines, like triangular aircraft with softly glowing lights
around the edges. They really spooked me when they went through
my field of view, headed north. I was lucky that time, too.
The second UFO honked, giving away its identity. If not for the
honk, I wouldn't have known what they were.
