My first view was amazing. The shock of it all hit me pretty well too. I had finally done it; I had arrived. “Today is a turning point for me,” I thought. I rode my motorcycle to the Grand Canyon. It is a mighty impressive hole in the ground.
It's even impressive from 30,000 feet if your transcontinental flight crosses over it.

The most impressive angle in the Grand Canyon has to be on the plateau between the outer south wall and the inner canyon. It gave me an overwhelming feel for how deep the canyon is.

All I see is time: the time it took to lay all those layers down; the time it took for the continent to uplift; time it took for river to carve through all those layers.
If you're running out of time, I would recommend GC. Lots of time there.

It sure is something to behold. Everyone should see it once in their life.
