WHOA! 1969! Surely, no one could have had internet access back then!

You're not the first to notice, among them:
Topic: Page 68 of Space Exploration Forum (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?t=34220)
Topic: ToSeek's First Post (?) (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?p=449446)

Imagine if a date/time field somehow gets set to zero -- software conversion problem or other bug. How would that then be interpreted in the Unix Epoch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time)? 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970. And, for display in your time zone, the start of an hour in December 31, 1969. Others will see it as the first second of an early hour in 1970.

It's not very exciting, really.

I think you've uncovered a cover up. It's pretty clear there's some kind of conspiracy going on here!!

Well give the guy a break, he was active for 35 years, much of that all alone. He must be exhausted.

Heck, that's nothing. There is a regular contributor (under many sequential names) who once posted a reply to his earlier message that was dated before the original message. He claimed some sort of time travel powers, but no one took him seriously.

Of course, we don't take him seriously even when he is. ;)

Actually, it was me. Ok, I confess. I created the first net back then, referred to as the Arpanet for a while before it became the DARPANET.

If you believe that, I've a truckload of apples for sale in Monarch, New Hampshire for a whopping 10 cents a pound. There's 173.781 Billion pounds of apples in that truck.

That's a lot of apples, at a very cheap price!

The only acceptable payment is a wire transfer to a secure, secret, unrevealed, untraceable, offshore, non-extraditable, account.

Uh... you do the math...

And should some super-stupid schmuck from anywhere ever decide to consider this a legitmate offer, I hereby declare, with sound mind and body, that it was a joke, pure and simply and since this text disclaimer is contained within the body of the original, no one, particularly super-stupid lawyers, should ever misconstrue that anything was meant beyond it being a joke. In other words, idiots within the legal system hereby violate all rights and responsibilities towards further action by any action taken on their part.

I really don't hate lawyers. Most are good people. I simply hate what most lawyers have allowed the legal system to become.
