Check out today's google banner (do you really need a link).

Yes we need links! You expect me to move my mouse pionter, or use ctrl+tab, to get my cursor all the way up to the address bar, then make me type the whole url myself, when you could simply just post a link? jeeze ur lazy dude.
:) Anyway, I *think* they used that, or at least a similar themed one, last year. Could be wrong. Cartoons have killed my brain cells one by one since i was old enough to watch tv...so by now there's quite a few gaps.

I <3 Google. Not just for looking stuff up, but the creativity that goes into the way they present the site.

That's why you use Firefox. Click in the Google toolbar and hit enter. Takes you right to google.com since there's no search term.

I could not find it in past years Holiday Google logos (http://www.google.com/holidaylogos.html) (there, a link, happy? :p ).

You're right, nor did a google search for google scream google up any googly goodness. :) such a fun word.
So perhaps they haven't used it before and I'm just losing my mind (as the previous sentances suggest).

edit-Yes I think that they have use something like 'the scream' before.

Actually, I use Yahoo as my homepage, and have done so for the past...six years? Seven?

I prefer the ethos and feel to the Google company.
Twice now, Yahoo has sneakily downloaded its toolbar onto my pc. I already have google toolbar and I do not need another.
Google has never tricked me into downloading their toolbar or any other software

They've done tribute banners to Monet, VanGoh, DaVinci, etc. But I didn't find a "scream" one. But it's one of those paintings that gets parodied and portrayed soo much it all blends in.

I have Google as my home page and I've customized it. What a great feature.
I like how when you click on the 'Google' it brings up a Munch search. I also remember they had a great logo during the Olympics.

Okay well maybe my memory is better than I give it credit for. Dunno. As my fav saying goes "I don't suffer from insanity... I enjoy every minute of it".

Okay well maybe my memory is better than I give it credit for. Dunno. Weird. I tried to use google to search for it, and just as soon as I searched for edvard munch, the Google/Scream/Logo is now beside the google entry line. Here it is: Edvard Munch Google Logo (http://www.google.com/logos/edvard_munch.gif)

I got there only to find the Firefox logo, then had to type in google, then click the first entry to finally get there. Swift's link doesn't get there directly either.

I'm quite sure since I did it before posting it. Swift's link works for me, too. Maybe Google doesn't like your computer?

Okay, once you click the cursor within this page's google box, it goes blank, then hit return, your screen displays the scream logo in the new google search window? 2weird: this (http://www.google.com/firefox) is what I see.
I misread Swift's link; thought it would show December's scream, but it stops at October's Halloween logo---d'oh, just like he said. (Hey, where's November?)

To be fair, Google toolbar is a "driveby" download in software now, too, I've noticed, in things such as Realplayer, Weatherbug, and others. Nothing is immune now

Mine takes me to google.com, like I said, so yesterday it did show the scream logo on the search page. We could be using different versions of firefox.

I have Google as my home page. And yes, they´ve put "the scream" before [iirc]. Munch must have a real big fan there...

Today, google made me scream.
"google is getting automatic search requests due to viruses. WE believe that your computer is infected with such a virus. PLease type in the password below to go to the google search page"

Hmm...that in itself sounds like it could be a virus/scam/phising/worming/trogan...ing (just wanted to throw out all the buzzwords). So now how do you know which is really the bad thing and which is not? Classic evil twin syndrom. Shoot the one with the unibrow!

The error message? or the scream logo?
I never got the error message posted by Nicolas, but the scream logo is gone as it's no longer his birthday.

Would have been cool if they'd added sound, or the pop-up screamer found in some vids on Youtube...
Then again, the heart attack lawsuits probably would have seriously hurt their bottom line!

doesn't everyone have Google as their home page?...Not everyone.
I do now, but I might dump it if I don't hear from them about how to keep multiple Gmail tabs from popping up in Firefox as I do searches, leave the home page, etc. At one point I had to close nine redundant Gmail tabs.
I emailed Google about this annoying "feature", requesting a fix, on April 6th. No reply so far.
Guess they're too busy counting their money.
