Has anybody noticed any continuity problems between StarWars III and IV ?

Well, one guy's done a great job doing a re-interpretation of StarWars IV to fit III - You'll never see IV in the same light again! :D

That was really cool.

But there is another possibility to explain the continutity errors between Ep 1-III and Ep IV-VI.

George took Continutity out back and shot it. Repeatedly.

Why possibly would I want to see episode 4 from the perspective of episode 3? That is like repainting the mona lisa because her smile is a bit off, and the background needs updating.

Matherly is right, george took continuity out back and shot it. Repeatedly. If it were real life, what happened to continuity would end up the storyline on a CSI or Law and Order :)

I really enjoyed reading that! Looking at it from that point of view, the story seems to mesh together much better. It's a fun read. Thanks for sharing it. :-)

I like the perspective, also. R2-D2 sounds much like the astro-mech in KOTOR and KOTOR2, who is very much involved in the same way as the author describes R2 (don't want to plant a spoiler here, so can't say more ;) )

Some of the details along the way were unnecessary to the story and problematic, and some were pretty obvious from the movies all along, but the key point that's central to it all--that Chewbacca and the droids being found in both trilogies is not just a silly coincidence but a story-related series of cause and effects--is still pretty good in general.

I agree. i had not thought of Chewies involvment although i DID already conclude that there was much more to R2D2 than was apparent.

That's awesome!

But that's also exactly the same conclusions that I came to.

Yep.

Uh-huh...
