In Cleveland this weekend, we had a situation with a bridge that could possibly be used in rebuttel of this thread (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?t=57956).
But; the reason I don't post it there is that it is a story in itself, and could possibly be on Leno or Letterman tonight.
Unlike the 4/29 claim of explosives blowing up a bridge, we have a bridge that explosives are not bringing down. To make matters worse, it runs right through the middle of our zoo.
Local stories here (http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=66659) and [url=http://www.newsnet5.com/news/13125006/detail.html] here.
I wasted time on Saturday morning watching live coverage, although I did get a few good laughs from some of the comments.

See what happens when you don't install the thermite when you build the structure? *tsk tsk* When will you clevelanders learn?
BTW, what are they doing to the zoo? I love the Cleveland Zoo; it's far-and-away better than the Columbus Zoo. Of course, I'm biased because you guys have the rainforest building and we do not. That's my favorite part of the zoo.
I can't remember what your aquarium was like, ours is okay. Not great but not horrible. Aquariums are my second favorite part.
And on a third, completely off topic ramble, I notice a few weeks ago the Columbus Zoo was hiring third-shift security guards. I use to be a shift supervisor doing security. I would LOVE to take that even as a second job, but it's too far from home to be practical.

Lowercase? Come on, I know you high faluten capitalites don't think too highly of our blue collar city, but I think we at least deserve a capital C like you and Cinci. ;)

Nothing, really. The bridge has been dropping concrete on the zoo for years, so nothing really exists under it except some paths with protective canopies.
The animals are in thier night shelters during the blast.

haha, I caught that when I typed "Cleveland" the second time, but thought I'd leave it lowercase just to see if you'd say something. You did. Another sucessful experiment brought to you by the fine people of BAUT :)

"Was" is the correct word, the aquarium went bye-bye a long time ago. There are a couple of fish as part of the Rainforest display, but that's it (except as food).
As far as the zoo and the bridge non-demolition, here (http://www.clemetzoo.com/announcements/bridgeclosing.asp) is some stuff from the zoo's website, including some pictures.
The animals at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo are doing just fine following Saturday's partial demolition of the Fulton Road Bridge. The tigers slept right through the blast and the giraffes barely batted an eye, according to their keepers. The Zoo's Northern Trek area was closed for the day due to the demolition, but it and the rest of the Zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Because the full bridge was not demolished on Saturday as planned, Zoo officials are working with Ohio Department of Transportation officials to determine when the rest of it -- including the stretch over the Zoo -- will come down. Further information will be forthcoming late Monday.

Well, gee - why didn't someone simply park a government-owned tanker (carefully removed via various holding companies) with accelerant-laced gasoline on it and set it on fire?
That would have done the trick!
(TIC, of course...)

Update:
They are going for another blow tonight at 6:00p EDT.
Probably during the expected hail storm. :D
Details here (http://www.newsnet5.com/news/13230267/detail.html) and here (http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=66854).
Faulty detonation cord? Now that's a problem.
