Things have been just perfectly correct the last couple of nights...
After I got off work Wednesday night, I stopped by Mom's to take the trash to the curb (Thursday is trash day, y'know), and saw that blue glow thru the front room window...darnit, she's fallen asleep in front of the tube again...c'mon, wake up, Mom...you know sleeping in that chair makes your back stiff...
I told her there was an ISS pass in a few minutes, and that it would be visible from the front yard...did she want to watch with me? We had enough time for her to get her brain cells in consecutive order and for me to take the trash down the hill.
We stood in the front yard, facing west, just watching for something moving. My eyes were distracted for a moment by an airplane, and sure enough, Mom spotted the ISS. A moment later, though, she hollered "There's another one!", and there was...I'd forgotten...we got us a twofer...
Venus...Saturn...Denebola...the Moon...Arcturus...Jupiter...and there went the ISS and the Shuttle just scootin' along right down the pipe...the ISS, big, bright, and gold-tinged, the Shuttle smaller, dimmer, and white...they shot to the south, just above and behind the house...then they dimmed and winked out...
Cool. Just flat cool.
