Their list of hairstyles:
1) The Mohawk
2) The Pompadour
3) The Beehive
4) The Queue
5) The Mullet
I think the mullet should be #1. Nothing says 'redneck' like a mullet. ;)
They also forgot the 'flip' (where you had bilateral 'wings' on your head), which was very popular in the late 70s-early 80s.

Anything from the 1970s.
The hairstyles matched the clothes.

Hmmm. I don't see 'The Don King' anywhere on that list. :)

...nor the contemporary "just-woke-up" look, as exemplified by "He's Just Not That Into You" co-author/TV host, Greg Behrendt (http://www.cobbscomedy.com/calendar.html)---yuck!

I still think the *worst* hair cut of all time is the 'Bobby Charlton' (as it is known in England):

I find a good mohawk rather pleasing to the eye. Bleah, what does CNN know about hairstyles, anyway?

I always thought, since we're talking about the World's worst, that the worst was that style in East Africa where one coiffs up one's hair with cow poop. Now mind you its probably just me, but I find the others don't come close.
Oh what! I just thought one worse, from Papua New Guinea, but I'm too nice to inflict that one on my fellow BAUTers who might not know about it.

Agreed. Especially on someone like Wes Studi, although he's Cherokee and not Mohawk.
I also don't find the mullet that awful either.

I'm sure Brit's hair pre-rehab would be somewhere on that list! ;)

Oh god, that's a comb-over!One of the worst hairstyles I've seen was common in "The Seven Samurai" and pretty much the opposite of a comb-over: young guys apparently trying to look older by shaving on top while letting the sides and back grow out as if to fake a bald spot. It not only didn't look right (whether due to the ages or because the edges were too crisp instead of fading in or just something else about it looking fake), but also often wasn't even maintained suffiently for its own look; they didn't shave often enough, so instead of smooth bare scalps, a lot of these guys had a fuzz layer!

...since we're talking about the World's worst...Hey, BD, looks like your avatar is aiming for that ancient full faced Eqyptian mummy-mullet! http://www.bautforum.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
(Say, is mummification still being practised anywhere?)

The mullet is what is called a vokuhila in Germany. In English that would be froshobalo, or front short back long :).

Correction, nothing says "I'm from South Australia, Bogan capital of the world" like a mullet

This we (non-white) laugh at, when we see a older Caucasian gentleman trying to cover his bald spot with a comb over. Its an inside joke, we don't share I will probably get kidded out of the brotherhood for posting it.

I know what you are talking about we have our own variable of the hair style minus the cow poop. You know the cattle (cow for Westerners) is a symbol of wealth, so strictly speaking they are wearing an equivalent of a bank statements to you (westerners).

Mullets are the official haircut of Baltimore (pronounced Bawlmer), hon. :D

You know the cattle (cow for Westerners) is a symbol of wealth, so strictly speaking they are wearing an equivalent of a bank statements to you (westerners).Where I worked in Connecticut in the 1980s, there was this one fellow (pretty sure he was in accounting) who was becoming terminally bald per the classic male pattern. His solution was the comb-over. In addition he kept (so to speak) his 70s hair style.
Some of us would pay attention to when it was a windy morning and stick around the security portals that had a nice, open view of the parking lot.
It was funny enough to see the fellow approaching in his polyester, (sorry, Jay) wide-collared shirt and polyester bell-bottomed pants. But when that first gust of wind hit, causing the comb-over to turn into two foot festoons, then invariably someone would bemoan the fact that inside a secure facility, one couldn't have a video camera.

These people are always from the accounting or human resources departments.
Engineers know better.
Another thing here in RSA in some schools white kids are not allowed to shave their heads completely bald (I think its the skinheads fault), but we non-white can

That is silly, indeed simply racist (clear and simple: allowed hairstyle depends on skin colour). Just like it is sexist that in some schools (and I'm talking Belgium too, so this isn't limited to some countries) girls can wear tops that don't cover the shoulders and boys can't. It's not like we've got genitals there :D. Same with ear rings. Schools can often be so two-sided, teaching all about equal rights and such, and then having a ridiculous set of rules. Luckily my high school (univ doens't bother at all :)) was strict in making equal rules for boys and girls, but somehow forgot to include the teachers. "decency is a priority, therefore all students should wear clothing that covers the shoulders." While your teacher stands there in spaghetti...Doesn't she need to be "decent"? How about ear rings? Teachers can be bling-bling all the way, and students aren't even allowed to have the smallest ear dot because it's not "decent"... Even worse, our high school was hectic about keeping students from smoking. Smoking wasn't allowed anywhere on or near school. But at least 8 times per day, all students had to pass the teacher's smoking room to go to/from classes. Good examples and consisteny were a bit hard for the "old crew", so it seems...
That said, the mullet is cool if worn right. That is, you wear it like a metalhead or you wear it like a redneck, otherwise you refrain from it. Worst hairstyle ever is a perfectly symmetrical mullet on a suit. "That's not a mullet, that's a joke!"
And no, I don't have a mullet. My hair simply is long :). It's shorter in front than on the back because if all is equally long, you need to split to the sides, which I don't like. But it's way too long in front to be called "voku" :). Hence no mullet. I'm getting a bit too bald for this hair style now, so I'll go back to short hair somewhere in the near future, I think. A bit of a shame, as I like the long hair. But for some reason it starts to flee.

Of course, if one is a fisherman from Gloucester, a mullet might be just the thing.

I have one: the 'grease-pit'. This guy who sat in front of me in Stat Mech class had the stringiest, greasiest, most dandruff-ridden hair I'd ever seen. It was also rather long (for a guy), so the flakes had a long way to migrate before they reached his shoulders.
He was perfectly nice otherwise, and nobody said anything to him about it, this being grad school.
